Nissan Altima vs. Nissan Sentra

2017 Nissan Altima vs. 2017 Nissan Sentra
Nissan has a full range of sedans for shoppers to choose from. Two of the most popular choices are the mid-size Altima and small Sentra. Both the Altima and Sentra have sleek, aerodynamic styling along with advanced technology, and plenty of standard features. We will compare the two to help you decide which is the right option for you.
Most Sentra models are powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. As for the Altima, buyers have two engine choices. The base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and there is also an available 3.5-liter V6. With the Sentra, drivers can expect to achieve up to an EPA-estimated 37 mpg on the highway*. With the Altima, that number jumps up to 39 mpg on the highway*.
If a more engaging drive is important to you, the Altima would be the right choice. With its V6 engine, you can enjoy 270 horsepower. However, the Sentra does offer SR Turbo and NISMO models that include a turbocharged engine with 188 horsepower.

Both the Altima and Sentra are packed with features. In fact, they share many of the same options, like a Bose audio system. However, in the Sentra the system only includes eight speakers, while the Altima’s has nine.
In the end, the Altima has more interior space and a few extra premium features that aren’t available in the Sentra. With the base engines, the Altima and Sentra have similar fuel economy estimates. So, if you don’t mind driving a smaller car with a little less power and you want save on the purchase price the Sentra is right for you. In addition, the Sentra still offers one of the largest interiors in its class.
